Amherst, NY – November 30, 2015 – Forty-five million Americans are currently living in poverty. For these individuals and families, a warm coat is an added expense they simply cannot afford. Owl Orthodontics invites Western New York residents to make a difference in your neighbor’s lives by donating coats and blankets during their upcoming coat drive!
Owl Orthodontics has teamed with the Priscilla Project of Jericho Road Community Health Center to collect gently used winter coats and new blankets. The Priscilla Project of Buffalo (PPB) serves low-income, pregnant refugee women. These women are disproportionately at-risk of experiencing birth complications. They have little or no knowledge of the healthcare system in Buffalo and most have language or cultural barriers to accessing prenatal care and healthcare. The PPB helps these women to overcome obstacles and transition into our culture.
There are many new refugees in Buffalo who will experience their first winter. These people are in urgent need of warm coats and blankets. All size winter jackets for women and children are needed as well as new (packaged) warm blankets. You can make a donation by dropping off items at any of the five Owl Orthodontics locations between November 30 and January 18.
